As there are as many minds as there are heads,
so there are as many kinds of love as there are hearts

This research concerns people's expectations and perceptions of their relationships and partners.
Such expectations and perceptions may have an effect on relationship satisfaction and long-term success of the relationship.
We are seeking both individual participants and members of a couple.
If you are at least 18 years old and you have been married or in a romantic relationship for at least 6 months (currently or in the past), you are invited to take part in this study.
If you are responding to the invitation from your partner, you will be asked to provide your "family password."
This study is a part of the final project by a Ph.D. candidate in Clinical Psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology, Alliant International University, San Francisco.
Your participation will consist of providing answers to a set of questionnaires about yourself, your spouse or partner, and the relationship. Your participation in the research is confidential and you will have the opportunity to learn about the study's overall findings once they become available.
Because the study is lengthy (about 1 hour), you will be able to complete the questionnaires at more than one sitting if necessary.
As a participant, you will have the opportunity to enter into a drawing for a prize: One participant will win an iPod Nano and 5 will win the book Hold Me Tight by Dr. Sue Johnson.
